LENGA

Disdero now stocks Lenga (Nothofagus pumilio), a native Chilean hardwood that grows mainly in the southern tip of South America. Lenga is a great substitute for American Cherry. This species has a white to yellowish color sapwood and heartwood of a pale dark pink tone. It is a noble wood that offers excellent conditions for drying, machining and staining. Due to its color and grain characteristics, along with an attractive price and quality, it is considered ideal for the production of high solid wood millwork, doors and furniture.

The Chilean government through its National Forestry Corporation (CONAF) approved and controls the harvesting of the Lenga forests. These controls assure regeneration, permanence and sustainability of the species and development of the Lenga forest.
